From the intersection of Hwy. 34 and Hwy 11 at Wolfe City, Hunt Co., Texas, travel east on Hwy. 11 for 0.5 mile.  Turn south onto Hunt Co. Road 4814.  Follow the winding road for 0.8 mile.  Mt. Carmel Cemetery is on the hill.

Frankie Stoner Nunley  w/o J. B. Nunley b Oct 10 1818- d Jan 12 1893  m/o B.C. Nunley Mayfield Bershula C. Nunley w/o A. J. Mayfield  b May 14 1860 d  Feb 26 1892 G.B. Mayfield (believe its Green Berry) s/o A.J. & B.C. b&d Jun 17 1890

After the death of Bershula C., Andrew Jackson Mayfield was married in 1894 to Sarah A. Lindsey, a full blood Cherokee.  They moved to Logansport, LA.  They had 15 children, 9 living to adulthood.  Andrew Jackson, b June 04 1858,Warren Co. TN- May 12 1950. Sarah E. Lindsey born Sep 15 1870  Oklahoma Territory- Jul 12 1944 Logansport LA.  both are buried in Cool Springs Cemetery. Notes by Gloria Briley Mayfield. For more Mt Carmel Information.
