Unresolved Burial Locations in Kimble Co., Texas
Compiled and submitted by Frederica Burt Wyatt , July 6, 2000.
Many hours have been expended in attempting to identify unmarked graves within Kimble County, but the final resting places for a number of persons remain unsolved. Note: On September 13, 1997, Ruth Gallaway Shoemaker
of Eustis, Florida, gave us the following information: Her great-grandfather,
Jacob P. Gallaway was born about 1852 and probably died in 1881
in Kimble County. A daughter, A. L. was born about 1878 and died
about the same time as her father. The Gallaway family is listed
in Precinct 1 of the 1880 Kimble County Census, and it is thought
the father and daughter died the following year. Other members
of the family removed to their old home in West Newton, Pennsylvania.
