ODESSA Christine Sue Walker, 54, of Odessa, passed away Saturday,
November 20, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born November 9,
1950, in Levelland, Texas, to Thomas Theodore Horton and Lillian Lucille
Greenway. She united in marriage to Lawerence Alexander Walker on
December 19, 1977, in Dumas, Texas. She has two daughters whom she
deeply and dearly loves.
She was a fifth-grade teacher at Goliad Elementary. She had been with
ECISD for 24 years, only missing one day of work in those 18 of 24 years
of loyal service. To family and friends alike, she had been an
inspirational angel who loved everyone and gave 100 % of her life to all
of them. She had been best of all a beloved wife, mother, grandmother,
sister, teacher and a dear and loving friend. She loved children,
teaching all the students about reaching their goals in life, and being
blessed by the friendship and love of all the personnel at her facility,
for whom she cared so deeply.
She is survived by husband, Lawerence Alexander “Lonnie” Walker of
Odessa; two daughters, Crystal Ann Simmons of Tulsa, Okla., and Heather
Dawn Walker of Odessa, TX; three brothers, Gerald Horton of Dumas, TX,
Johnnie Horton of Lakewood, Colorado, and J.W. Horton of Fayetteville,
Tenn; two sisters, Genevive Harrison of New Waverly, TX, and Lillian
Powers of Ft. Lupton, Co.; brothers-in law, Richard and Mike Walker;
five grandchildren; and several niece and nephews, cousins, uncles,
aunts and so many friends across the country.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at Faith
Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Shelton officiating. Burial
will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The entire Walker family would like to extend and express there deepest

and have been the greatest support to all of us. To all the E.R.
Doctors, nurses, and the ICU staff, at Medical Center Hospital. A

difficult time. Thank you Brother Wayne Shelton and to the staff at
Odessa Funeral Home for handling the services and making sure this
extremely unexpected time is not burdened by any more complications.
On November 20th everyone lost a true saint when Heaven called this
