Edwin ‘Ed’ Tucker

ODESSA — Edwin “Ed” Tucker, 86, a longtime resident of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at the Hospice House. He was born September 8, 1917, in Plainview, Texas, to James and Lucille Tucker. He married Connie Miller June 7, 1942, in Odessa. He was a fifty-year member and past Master of Odessa Masonic Lodge #955. He was past High Priest, 50-year member and Cornerstone recipient of Sam J. Helm Chapter 445. He was past Thrice Illustrious Master, 50-year member and Crytic Triangle recipient of Sam J. Helm Council #363. He was a member of Red Cross of Constantine, Permian Conclave. West Texas College #36 of the York Rite College of North Ameria. Past Patron of Friendship Chapter 1008, Order of the Eastern Star. Fifty-year member of Odessa Commandery #110. Ed served all of Masonic Bodies with complete dedication. He also was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He had worked for G.Q. Salmon & Sons as a transport driver. He was crossing guard at Maple and Century streets for 13 years. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his parent and half brother, John Arvel Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Tucker of Odessa; son, Ed Tucker and wife, Sandy, of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; Kimberly and Keith Tucker, Lonnie and Darrell Phillips and Michael Case; and eight great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m Friday, August 20, 2004, at Temple Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. David Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Masonic officers persiding, John Windham, Worshipful Master, Gene Schneider, senior warden John Willis, junior warden and Frank Berkley, Chaplain.
