Catherine Walter Treece ‘Bunky’
ODESSA — Bunky Treece left this world on October 15. She was born July
7, 1921, and grew up in the Heights of Houston. She was proud of her
Reagan High School Redcoats, where she served as an officer in the drill
team from 1937-1939.
Bunky was a dedicated Christian and a member of the Heights Church of
Christ until she and her husband, Tommy, moved to Odessa during the war.
In Odessa, she was a faithful member of the 6th and Jackson Street
Church of Christ for over forty years, 27 of which she served as church
secretary. Her life was that of a beautiful Christian lady. She taught
those who loved her to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. She lived
her life by these same teachings.
So many mourn her passing; including her daughter, Sharon Lee Whitlock
and husband, Don, of Austin; her son, Gerald Treece and wife, Sue, of
Houston; her brothers, Gerald and Ronald Walter; sister, Mary Arnold;
grandchildren, Justin and Trisha Treece and Rob and Joy Whitlock; and
her great-granddaughter, Lori Whitlock.
We know that it is a great day for her, but we already miss her so. She
will always be a beautiful Christian Lady, a great Christian mother and
a wonderful Christian grandmother. Bye for now, Mom.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, October 18th at 10 a.m. at
Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be celebrated at 12 noon
at the 6th and Jackson Church of Christ, Odessa, TX.
