Nona B. Scott

Odessa Nona B. Scott, a longtime resident of West Texas, passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, November 11, 2004, after a long illness involving a stroke.
She and her loving husband, Zack, who died in August 2004, were long-established residents of the Manor Park Retirement Community in Midland, Texas.
Nona was born in Tom Green County to John and Mabel Caudle and grew up with two sisters, Blanche Wyatt, and Naomi Caudle and one brother, Abe Caudle (all preceding her in death).
She is survived by her loving sons and daughter-in-laws, Ken and wife Sharon of Dallas, Abe and wife Nelda of Goldsmith and Charles and wife Sharin of Houston. Additionally she is survived by five grandchildren...Zack, Hal, John Charles, Lauren and Lindsey; and one great-grandchild, Lucas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her quiet loving personality endeared her to her family and many friends who enjoyed the warmth of her home and true care she had for others. All her friends enjoyed the labors of her wonderful cooking that was often the magnet that kept friends and family together on holidays. She loved the beauty of nature; and she could often be found outdoors in her flower garden, observing birds or animals or fishing a small stream in Colorado.
She and Zack were active members in the churches of the community where they lived... the Goldsmith Methodist Church, the First Methodist Church of Odessa and Run-Away Bay Community Church. Her faith and dignity were the centerpiece of her life and became an inspiration to all those that came to know and love her.
A visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Braswell officiating. Private graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manor Park, Inc. or Hospice House of Odessa or Goldsmith United Methodist Church.
