Lou Carnes Miller
ODESSA — Lou Carnes Miller, age 96, of Odessa, passed away Aug. 28,
2004, in Odessa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at Sunset
Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Burial
will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born Dec. 8, 1907, in Midland, Okla., to Ezra and Sadie Ketchum.
She moved to Odessa in the 1930s.
She married the Rev. Roy Miller in 1959 in Houston. She owned and
operated Vogue Cleaners in Odessa until her retirement. After retiring,
she and her husband went on the road as traveling evangelists.
She is survived by her sons, O.W. Carnes and wife Nellie of Odessa and
Eddie Carns and wife Ann of Seminole; daughters, Bettie David of Odessa,
and Peggy McComma and Toby of Odessa; brother, Jack Presley of Ada,
Okla.; sister, Blanch Carnes of Odessa; stepchildren, Lorraine Crow,
Maxine Roby and Marilyn Brantley of Hilltop Lakes, Mary Frances Loper of
New Braunfels and Carol and Don Miller of Houston; and 12 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
