John Henry Hatten Sr.
ODESSA John Henry Hatten Sr. passed away Friday, October 29, 2004 at
Hospice House in Odessa.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday at First United Methodist Church
with Rev. Blossom Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memorial Gardens. Family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. today at the
funeral home. Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
John Henry Hatten was born June 6, 1914 in Dalhart, Texas to Ed and
Gulielma Boon Hatten. He served in the Navy as Pharmacist’s Mate First
Class. He was a 30-year employee of Behrens Drug Co. as a salesman. He
married Novelle Groves in Breckenridge, Texas on July 16, 1939. He was a
member of the Rotary Club, Tri County Pharmaceutical Association, Odessa
Country Club and First Methodist Church where he was a Sunday school
teacher for 22 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Novelle Hatten, his parents and
seven siblings.
He is survived by his daughter Diane Benson Gaskins and husband Don of
Dallas, son John H. Hatten II. DDS and wife Carol of Odessa, brothers
Lt. Col. Frank Hatten of Plano, and Ray Hatten of Cisco, five
grandchildren Leslie Benson, Cynthia Reed, Krista Vanderburg, Charity
Sparks, and Stephanie Hatten and six great grandchildren
