Michael James Woods

ODESSA — Michael James Woods, 41, of Clyde, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at an Abilene Hospital.
Michael was born April 1, 1963, in Odessa, Texas to Jim and Doris Woods. He grew up and attended school in Crane, TX,, graduating from Crane High School. After graduating, Michael joined the United States Army, serving from 1981 until 1983 at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. He married Tommye Parker in Odessa on February 6, 1993. Michael worked as the Warehouse Manager for Harbison-Fischer Production Pumps of Abilene for the past three years. Above and beyond that, Michael was truly a devoted son, father and husband. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Tommye; children, Jacob Michael and Rachel June; parents, Jim and Doris Woods of Odessa; sister, Deborah Franklin and husband, Mike, of Midland; niece, Desiree Farmer and husband, Jayme, and great niece, Demi, all of Midland; paternal grandmother, Gerdeane Woods Walker of Graham; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Faye McKee of Gordon; brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny and Carla Parker of Midland, Sue and Larry Jackson of Odessa, Deanna and Mike Hamilton of Odessa, Joseph Parker of Kingsland, Pamela and Blake Bayer of Liberal, Kan., and Mary and Dennis Hamilton of Austin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tim Evans, Jr. Juarez, Paul Turnacliff, Jimmy Don Robinson, Buddy Jenkins and Don Heald.
Visitation with family will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors in Odessa. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Sherwood Baptist Church of Odessa with the Rev. Elwin Collum and the Rev. Amon Langston officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
