Madie Belle Wilson
ODESSA — Madie Belle Wilson, a homemaker, 87, passed away Saturday,
July 17, 2004, at her residence in Odessa.
She was born February 13, 1917, to Tom and Ollie Mae Moore in Gorman
County, Texas. She married Fred Oren Wilson Sr. on March 24, 1932, in
Athens, TX. They have lived in Odessa for 57 years. They were members of
Bethel Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School for many
years.
She loved to cook for family and friends and was famous for her caramel
pies. She enjoyed singing, always saw the good in people, and was always
there for her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Oren Wilson Sr.; her
parents; her four sons, Fred Oren Wilson Jr., Tommy Joe Wilson, Don
Albert Wilson and Doyle MacArthur Wilson; one infant daughter, three
brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her two daughters, Joyce Stump and husband, William
Owen, of Gillette, Wyo., and Gracie Willis and husband, Elmer Dee, of
Odessa; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a family visitation Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at
Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Bro. Phil Sanders officiating and Bro. Don
Swindle assisting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with
the Rev. John Van Hoose officiating at the graveside.
Pallbearers are Nathan Moseley, Phillip Moseley, William Willis, Charles
Varner, Billy Varner and Jonathan Willis.
