Florence Marie Webb

ODESSA — Florence Marie Webb went home to be with her Lord on July 14, 2004, surrounded by her family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Westfall officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.
She is survived by her children, Melvin Roy Webb Jr. of Odessa, Surina White and her husband, Michael L. White, of Odessa, Katerina Dancer of Michigan, Walter R. Webb of Odessa, Cheryl Sawyer and her husband, Andy, of Odessa and Pauline Sutton of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Roy Webb, Sr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin A. Griggs of Odessa; her brother, Walter F. Griggs of Conroe; and her sister, Mrs. May “Jack” Gaile of Odessa.
Mom was born on December 1, 1924, in Stamford, Texas, and married Melvin R. Webb Sr. on April 4, 1942. After the war, they settled in Colorado before moving to Odessa in 1948. Our parents started their family shortly thereafter by adopting five children and raising her niece Pauline Sutton. Mom was a Baptist and attended Midessa Heights Baptist Church.
