Gertrude Ida Gouge
ODESSA — Gertrude Ida Gouge, 82, a longtime resident of Odessa and of
Pentecostal faith, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 20, 2004,
after a lengthy illness. She was born October 29, 1921, in Rush Springs,
Okla., to Raymond and Ida Mae Goodnight. She married Alvin Leon Gouge on
December 18, 1939, in New Mexico. They had two daughters. She worked
30-odd years with Sears & Roebuck Inc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ida Mae Goodnight,
husband Alvin Leon Gouge, and one brother, Robert Franklin “Sonny”
Goodnight.
She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Fern Darnell and Mary Kathleen
“Kathy” Hohertz; five grandchildren, Deanna Hisaw and husband,
David, Derrick Wayland Hohertz and wife, JoAnn, Brandon Jay Conner and
wife, Georgiana, Michael Craig Conner and John David Darnell; four
great-grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Hisaw, CaSandra Denay Hisaw, Thomas
Alvin Hohertz and Brandon Michael Conner; two brothers, Raymond and
Duane Goodnight; and three sisters, Margrette Galyon, Roberta Nichols,
Jean Locke and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at
Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
