Eunice Marjorie Derrick
ODESSA — Eunice Marjorie Derrick “Gaw-Gaw” was given the privilege
to spend 82 precious years with all her family and loved ones before
going to be with the Lord July 8, 2004.
Gaw-Gaw was born July 24, 1921, in Jefferson, Texas, to her proud
parents Harvey and Nancy Jane Poplin. Gaw-Gaw was a temporary resident
at Seabury Nursing Center but is now awaiting us all in her permanent
home, with her Creator, in Heaven. Gaw-Gaw was very precious and unique
and was loved by many. She had 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren
and 24 great-great-grandchildren, all whom she loved very much.
Gaw-Gaw was the family peacemaker and utilized her God-given talents by
showing love, support, encouragement and compassion to more than her
family members. She was our Sweet-Angel who enjoyed crocheting in her
spare time. She also enjoyed working in the church nursery with the
children, whom she loved deeply.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, at
Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dick Brown officiating.
Her loving husband, Harvey S.; son, Harvey Ray; and parents precede
Gaw-Gaw in death.
She is survived by her six loving children, Lawrence Derrick of Wichita
Falls, Wanda Ruth Baggett of Odessa, Marjorie Keith of Greenville,
Harold Samuel Derrick of Grand Prairie, Carol Rich of Odessa and Donna
Derrick of Odessa.
