ODESSA — Imogene Alcorn Vaught Pilcher
died unexpectedly Saturday, April 10, 2004, from an aneurysm.
She was born October 25, 1932, in San Angelo, Texas. She attended Odessa
High School and earned a B.A. and M.A. from Texas Tech University. She
retired in 1994 as Chair of the Division of Languages and Literature at
Odessa College, where she had taught English for thirty years.
In her long and distinguished career, she earned many honors, including
being a member of Phi Kappa Psi.
She was a caring daughter, an avid bridge player and an especially
generous and committed mother and grandmother. She is sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Alcorn Sr. and her
sister, Maurine Alcorn Sperry.
She is survived by her mother, Elsie Alcorn; daughter Jacque Vaught
Brogan of South Bend, Ind.; sister, Mary Van Cleve of Arlington, Texas;
brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Suzanne Alcorn Jr.; grandchildren,
Jessica and Evan Brogan of South Bend.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Sunset
Memorial Gardens.
