Mable Schneider
ODESSA — Mable Schneider, 72, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4,
2004, at her residence. She was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Littlefield,
Texas, to William and Ethel Heberling Haskell. She moved to Odessa in
the 1950s from Kermit. She married Gene Schneider Feb. 24, 1962, in
Odessa.
Mrs. Schneider was past matron of the Eastern Star Chapter 447, past
president of the Odessa Study Club, past president of the Odessa
Contemporary Garden Club, past president of Laureate Alpha Phi of Beta
Sigma Phi, past president of the Christian Women’s Club, past
president of the Social Order of Beauceant, district instructor for the
Reach To Recovery Program of the American Cancer Society and past mother
adviser of the Rainbow for Girls Odessa Assembly #114.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Schneider of Odessa; son, Larry
Schneider of Ruidoso, N.M.; daughter, Jerry Schneider of Odessa;
sisters, Barbara Nichols of Odessa, Betty Conley and Jean Covington,
both of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at the
Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Don Fankhauser and Dr. Jimmy Braswell
officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family requests memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
