ODESSA — Olive DeLay Ross, 65, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at
Medical Center Hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1938, to Herbert H. and
Stella L. DeLay in Atoka, Okla. Her parents preceded her in death.
She grew up in Monahans and graduated in Grandfalls, Texas, in 1956. She
married Oscar H. Ross on Feb. 14, 1986, in San Angelo. Together, they
owned and operated Osco Services, where she was the office manager. She
was a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, a member of the Ladies Oriental
Shriners, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and also involved with
the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang. She enjoyed playing bridge.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar Ross of Odessa; son, Kelly
Higginbotham of Odessa; daughters, Kerry Carter and husband, Kyle, of
Austin; and Kimberly Randolph of Austin; step-daughters, Bonnie Easter
and Shanis Simons of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Tory Margeson and
husband, Dan, of Odessa; sister, Lee Williams of Odessa; nephew, Don
Allen Burney of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren,
and a large circle of friends.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at
Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial
Gardens.
Pallbearers will be V.J. Snyder, Dody Snyder, Wayne Wheat, Jack
Reynolds, Wayne Kennedy and Buz Baker.
The family suggests memorial be made to the Home Hospice or to a charity
of choice.
