ODESSA
— William “Gene” Eugene Wester, 58, of Odessa, passed away
Tuesday, March 23, 2004. Gene was born in Weatherford, Texas, to Harvey
and Bonnie Lee Wester. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1964 and went on to Angelo State University, graduating in 1969. He worked as a loan officer for Odessa Savings and Loan, later opening his own appraisal business. He served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He has been a member of Belmont Baptist Church, the VFW and the American Legion. His parents, Harvey and Bonnie Lee Wester, preceded him in death. Gene is survived by his sisters, Millie Ward and husband, A.L., of Kermit, Carolyn Farris and husband, Jimmie, of Odessa, Laverne Baxter and husband, Benny, of Odessa, Patsy Roper and husband, Eddie, of Midland; son, Bryan Wester; daughter, Sherry Wester, both of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, March 25, 2004, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Henry Freund officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with VFW Military honors. Pallbearers will be A.L. Ward, Jimmie Farris, Benny Baxter, Eddie Roper, Aaron Roper and Tommy McCrury. Memorials may be directed to the VFW. Arrangements entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. |
