ODESSA — LaFaye Minton Plumlee, 83,
passed away Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born January 14, 1921, to Henry Lee and Vesta Mae Minton in
Elkhart, Texas. She was raised in Houston. She was a business woman and
a homemaker, a very courageous and well-loved lady. She was an Odessa
resident since 1963, moving here from Hobbs, N.M.
She was the co-founder of Rio-Specialty, and A-1 Gasket, and retired in
1992. She was a member of the El Nina Court of the Ladies Memorial
Shrine and the Desk and Derrick Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Vesta Minton, and
her husband, Fred Plumlee.
Survivors include her sons, James Michael Plumlee of Odessa, Dr. John
Patrick Plumlee and wife, Laura, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lanny
Plumlee and wife, Polly, of Odessa; her daughter, Fredda Plumlee Moore
and husband, Bobby, of Odessa; brothers, G.B. Minton of Houston and
Jimmy Minton of Fort Worth; sisters, Mary Gray and Betty Kocian, both of
Houston; nine grandchildren, Geordie Mason of Kent, Ohio, James Plumlee
of Walnut Creek, Calif., Taner Drake of Odessa, Shera Drake of San
Antonio, Brandon Plumlee of Houston, Clint Plumlee of Odessa, Jonathan
Plumlee of Jacksonville, Fla., Cali Stanton of Abilene and Clay Stanton
of Odessa; six great-grandchildren, Kennah, Morgan and Connor Mason, and
Cayeleigh, Spencer and Savannah Drake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Lutheran
Church of the Risen Lord with Rev. James Otterness and Rev. Chris Conner
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pall bearers will be Bill Nichols, Carlton Roy, Randy Smith, Wayne
Wagnon, Mark Kocian, Gary Gray and Patrick Gray.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
