Obituary Notices in paper reads as follows

 Jesse Ivan Mathews
  Jesse Ivan Matthews, 5-years old
Son of Mr and Mrs Ira Mathews,
Residing on the Texas Company's
Boyd lease, died yesterday morning
at 4:30 at a local hospital, following
an operation for appendictis .
Funeral services were held yesterday
afternoon at  5:00 o'clock at the Funeral
Chapel of the Milford Company.
  The Rev. M. F. Drury Officiated
burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

 

Notes
This is the story we were told, when Jack (Jesse) died grandma Jane  (Nancy Jane Greer Curts Mathews) went to the cemetery everyday and would sit and cry by his grave for hours. Little grandma (Margaret  Emeline Cagle Greer Phillips ) went to my grandfather (Ira Mathews) and told him that he needed to move my grandma away from there. Ira Mathews moved his family to California.
