Rock Church - Logan Valley Cemetery

Brown County, Cemeteries of TX

Inscriptions by Harlon V. Wells

Thanks to the Alvin Richmond family, of Blanket, for their continued dedication and devotion to the administration and maintenance of this cemetery for many years.

Over the years, there have been a number of surveys done on this cemetery. Rather than use some of those for purposes of this listing, I decided to personally conduct a complete survey. I
spent two days accomplishing that task, on 24 Jan 1999 & 07 Feb 1999. I have compared the resulting survey with That of Hazel Ellis Wetzel's 1972 survey of this cemetery, in her
compilation, 'Rural Cemetery Inscriptions, Brown County Texas'. This was done as a check for accuracy, as well as to see changes that have occurred since 1972. I have made a few updates to
it since that time, but I am sure that it is due another update by now. I attend the yearly cemetery meeting on the first Sunday in May, so I will try and do an update each year to keep
this list somewhat current. If I have made errors or omissions here, please bring them to my attention, and I will be glad to make corrections.

This survey was begun in the northeast corner of the cemetery. The row numbers progress from east to west, and the graves are listed in order, from north to south in each row. Every effort
has been made to preserve the relative location of each grave, with the exception of actual measurements between them. In the near future, I plan to complete a diagram showing the
position of each grave within the cemetery. Harlon V. Wells, 21 April 2003
