Milo Cemetery
Briscoe Co., Cemeteries of TX
Submitted by Betty Moeller
Martha Hawk, Eudean Crow and myself, Betty Moeller documented the cemetery, on site. I also garned from the booklet "Interments In Swisher County And Vicinity" by Ethel Christian Hooten. It was compiled by Tule Creek Genealogical Society, mainly from death records and knowledge of the persons buried.(BM)
The Milo Cemetery is located in Briscoe county, Texas 1 mile east of the Swisher County line. It is about 1 mile west of where FM 207 intersects with FM road that leads to Tulia through the Red Hill and Love communities. [From Tulia, Texas take 86 east turn right onto Texas Hwy 207 north past Lake McKenzie/MaKenzie turn left onto FM 3300 to Tulia, cemetery on the left.
The cemetery was first located in the northwest corner of the section, but due to landslides to correct old surveys the cemetery is now located about a hundred yards east of the west line of the section.
John Alexander Cope was the first
person placed there in 1892.
