This cemetery is located on the west side of LA 121 between Gardner and Hineston, LA, at the Otis Community. Camp Eight Turpentine Camp was a community of Black, White, and Mexican laborers who tapped the pine trees and gathered the turpentine.   In the early 1900's when the mill "cut out" and moved away, it left at least one small burial ground.  A Mexican graveyard was supposed to be behind the present fenced cemetery, but nothing remains at this time to mark the spot except a small knoll of pine trees.
