Frank Vernon "Bud" Smith

St. Ann’s Cemetery, Stonewall

KEATCHIE, LA- Frank Vernon "Bud" Smith, 83, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008, in Shreveport. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA with Reverend Dean Register officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ann.'s Cemetery in Stonewall, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 24, 2008, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born June 25, 1925, in Keatchie, LA, and, was a lifetime resident there. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He was an auto mechanic and was always willing to serve his community

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank, and Beatrice Dupree Smith and brother Cliff Smith and wife, Joyce.

He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Smith Nickels of Shreveport, LA and Agatha Adams Warren of Athens, TX; granddaughters and grandsons, Grace Nickels of Shreveport, LA, Kathleen and Bill Brown of Palestine, TX, Cecile and Frank Richardson of Lake Jackson, TX, Raye Anne and Richard Cox of Celina, TX, Ernest Warren of Athens, TX and Glenn Wayne and Vicki Warren of Athens, TX; great-granddaughters and great-grandsons, Kristin and Jonathan Ryal of Tyler, TX, Eric Warren of Athens, TX, Jonathan Kelly of College Station, TX, Jamie and Brandon Gillespy of Frisco, TX, Adam and Amber Warren of Seven Points, TX, and Amanda Richardson of Lake Jackson, TX; great-great granddaughters, Baley Warren of Athens, TX, Abigail Warren of Seven Points, TX and Ryleigh Gillespy of Frisco, TX and numerous other family members and friends.

Pallbearers include grandsons and Bob Lee, Andy Loftus, Mike Speights and Travis Whitfield.
