James E. Stanley

STONEWALL, LA- Mr. James E. Stanley, 56, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 2 until 5 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14th at Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall, LA with Rev. Stanley McGee officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Stanley was born July 10, 1951 in Shreveport and was a lifelong resident of Stonewall, LA. He graduated from Stonewall High School and attended LSU Shreveport. He was a DeSoto Parish School bus driver for twenty-three years. Mr. Stanley was a foreman with the transportation department for Caddo Parish School Board, owner of North DeSoto Auto and also enjoyed farming.

Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Julious Edward and Nancy Vaughn Stanley.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Marilyn Marsh Stanley of Stonewall, LA, two daughters, Callie Fogle and her husband, Jonathan of Raleigh, NC and Jamie Stanley of Fallon, NV; one son, Adam Stanley of Stonewall, LA; two grandchildren, Jack and Brock Stanley; two brothers, John W. Stanley and his wife, Dori of The Woodlands, TX and their children, John, Curt and Sheri, and Bob R. Stanley and his wife, Shelba of Stonewall, LA and their son, Tony. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made "In Memory of James Stanley" to the Stonewall Volunteer Fireman's Association, P.O. Box 329, Stonewall, LA 71078 or American Heart Association, 745 Olive Street, Shreveport, LA 71104.
