Cecil Grey "Bud" Kelly

O. E. Price Memorial Cemetery, Logansport

SHREVEPORT, LA Cecil Grey "Bud" Kelly, passed away at Grace Home Hospice in Shreveport, La. on October 18, 2008. Visitation will be 9-11 AM, Monday, October 20, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Logansport, La. Funeral services will be at 11 AM, at the First United Methodist Church at 4th and Gum Street. Pastor Kemper Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the O. E. Price Memorial Cemetery, Logansport, La.

Mr. Kelly was born 8 June 1907 in Braxton, Mississippi to Fancy Ansley Kelly, Sr. and Mattie Jane "Patsy" McDonald Kelly who preceded him in death. He celebrated his 101st birthday with people he loved most, his church group.

Mr. Kelly moved his family to Houston, Texas in the early 1940's. He ran a restaurant for many years and as his wife's health failed, they moved back to Logansport and he worked for Carey Shirey.

He moved to Shreveport in June 2005 to be near his family.

Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Donnie Elliott Kelly; son, Cecil Elliott "Scooter" Kelly; brother, S. Elmer Kelly; sisters, Willie Lee "Billie" Bonds (Mrs. James); Mattie Laurine Ettredge Leshe, Alice Kelly Robicheaux (Mrs. C. J.)

He is survived by a brother, Frank A. Kelly, Jr. and wife Laverne, Shreveport, La.; nieces, Betty Ettredge Brown and Barbara Ettredge Streetman, Arcadia, La.; Martha Ettredge Haynes and husband Larry, Bossier City, La., Kelly Sue Rowland, Channelview, Texas, Alice Robicheaux Whitehead and husband Marvin, Shreveport, La., nephews; Walter L. Hogsett, Channelview, Texas, C. Eugene (Gene) Hogsett and wife Bonnie, Big Canoe, Ga; Frank A. Kelly, III and wife Barbara Lake Charles, La.

Pallbearers will be Porter Dowling, Ronald McBride, Dwight Hill and Billy Alger

Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class.
