Tressie "Ted" Smith

STANLEY, LA - Funeral services for Tressie "Ted" Smith, 93, will be Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home Logansport Chapel. Officiating will be James Strickland assisted by Jerry Gannon. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM and Friday, May 23, 2008, from 9:00 AM until service time.

Tressie was born May 13, 1915 in Oak Grove Community now known as Stanley, LA to John and Chloe Parker. She passed away at her residence on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. One of the highlights of her life was her children whom she always taught "All Souls are the same there is no color, no race, no rich, no poor, God is color blind."

Preceding Tressie in death was her husband, Morris Lovert Smith; daughter-in-law, Sydonia Smith; son-in-law, Richard Emmett Morris; parents; three brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Wanda Morris; sons, Milton Smith and wife Jeanette and Ray Smith; 10 grandchildren; 23 great -grandchildren; 12 great-great- grandchildren and her church family which she dearly loved.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Thomas "Burt" Lovert Smith, Milton Kyle Smith, Royce Everett Morris, John Timothy Smith, Terry Gene Smith, and Darren Ray Smith and honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Logansport, LA 697-4441
