Donnie Farris Latin

Mt. Mariah BC Cemetery, Kingston

FRIERSON, LA- Services celebrating the life of Donnie Farris Latin will be at 11 am Thursday, August 21, at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, Kingston, LA with Pastor Johnny Baylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Mariah BC Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, August 20, at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, Kingston, LA.

She was born on December 16, 1946 to Donnie Washington & Freddie Fobbs. She was reared by Ernest and Carrie Scott.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. Her Christian services included the Sunday school, Missionary Unit and Deaconess.

She was a 1964 graduate of Second Ward High School, Gloster, LA. She retired from DeSoto Parish Schools after 24 years of service and continued her education as a Certified Nurses' Assistant.

She departed this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2008.

Mrs. Latin is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wilbert Latin, Sr.; two sons, Tyrone Clay Latin of Dallas, TX and Wilbert Latin, Jr. and wife, Portia of Gloster, LA; father & step-mother, Freddie and Alma Fobbs of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight sisters; five brothers; high school classmate & very special friend, Betty B. Bell; four god children; seven aunts; one uncle; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
