C. W. "Shorty" Calhoun

Dill Cemetery, Carmel

CARMEL, LA- C.W. "Shorty" Calhoun died January 1, 2008 in Coushatta, LA. Funeral services will be Friday, January 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield Chapel. Burial will follow in Dill Cemetery, Carmel, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Toby Shaw, assisted by Rev. Pat Cobbs. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, January 3, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.

Shorty was born May 7, 1929 in Red River Parish, LA. The love of Shorty's life was to make sure that everyone he came in contact with new the way to heaven. He was the pastor for Graceway Baptist Church in Carmel for many years.

Preceding Shorty in death was his wife Beatrice Calhoun, son Johnny Calhoun; parents Robert and Ollie Calhoun; 5 brothers Otis, Jim, Garland, Bowman, Gene Calhoun; sister Myrtis Sylvester. Shorty leaves behind to cherish his memories are his son Otis Calhoun and wife Bonnie; sister Gladys Deas; sister in law Lillian Calhoun; and grandchildren Johnathan, Krisdi, and Kasidi Calhoun.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie DeSoto, Ronnie Savell, Randy Fuller, Kevin Chamberlin, Larry Lynch, and Roy Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Calhoun, Gus Laffitte, and Mike Curry.
