William Neal Williamson, Sr.

STONEWALL, LA - A celebration of the life of William Neal Williamson, Sr., 84, will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11am. Officiating will be Pastor Jay Burford, assisted by Pastor Roger Morton and Bro. Ken Norton. Interment will follow at Stonewall Cemetery, Stonewall, LA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
Mr. Williamson was born October 26, 1924 in Shreveport, LA to William Jacob Williamson and Millie Galbraith Williamson. He lived his entire life in Stonewall, LA. He peacefully left this life behind to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Grace Home. The love of his life and wife of 66 years, Bernice was at his side.
Mr. Williamson was a 3rd generation dairy farmer in DeSoto Parish. He was a former member of the Ark-La-Tex Gem & Mineral Society. He and Bernice enjoyed many years of traveling all over the United States finding beautiful and unusual rocks. Mr. Williamson was one of the founders of the First Southern Methodist Church of Stonewall, LA. At the time of his death, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grand Cane, LA.
William Neal was a loving husband, daddy, grandfather and great grandfather to the family he cherished.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, who never left his side, Bernice Lemley Williamson, six children and their spouses, William Neal "Billy" Williamson, Jr. and wife Nancy of Stonewall, Cheryl W. Garrett of Keatchie, LA, Millicent W. Whittington and husband John Michael of Panola, TX, Jackie W. Burford and husband Charles of Keatchie, LA, Thomas L. Williamson and wife Beverly of Stonewall, and Debra W. Burford and husband Jay of Keatchie, LA. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Chris Burford, W. N. "Will" Williamson, III, Chad Burford, Cliff Garrett, Joshua Burford and Jason Whittington.
