Della Mae (Craig) Booker

MONTGOMERY, TX - Della Mae (Craig) Booker, 67, of Montgomery, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on 1-29-2009 after a brave and valiant battle with cancer.
Della was born on April 6, 1941 in Vidette, Arkansas to Arthur and Evelyn (Johnson) Craig.
Della was married to Earl Booker on August 30, 1986 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was an active member of Lakeside Bible Church, Montgomery, Texas where she leaves many close friends and loved ones. Della previously attended Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas where she had also been an active member.
Della's creativity and enthusiasm for all things was reflected in everything she did and everyone she met. She was known for her wit and wisdom. Her love of adventure was seen as a decorator, pilot, Toastmaster, powder-puff stock car driver, real estate professional and even an auctioneer!
As a lifelong conservative who loved her country…she had the honor of serving previously as a delegate.
She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Earl Booker, of the home they shared. Daughter Tanya (Travis) Cooper, of Montgomery, son Harold(Patty) Cook, also of Montgomery, daughter Lori (Jim) Hillje of Encinal, Texas. Step-children Earl Booker II of Houston, Glenn (Robin) Booker of Friendswood, Chris (Amy) Booker of Magnolia, Angie (Mike) Crawford of San Antonio, Texas.
"Mee-Maw" "Aunt Della Mae" "Phoebes" leaves 18 grandchildren - 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great -nephews and many friends!
Della also leaves brothers Clyde (Theresa) Craig of Lonsdale, Arkansas and Ross (Valorie) Craig of Odebott, Iowa and one sister Lou Kuhn of Conroe, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Evelyn Craig; brothers Charley and Tommy Craig, one sister Lola Davis, one grand-daughter Amy Elizabeth Cooper and several nieces and nephews.
Lakeside Bible Church will host a Visitation and Memorial Service on Saturday, January 31, 2009 with the visitation from 2:00-3:30 pm and Memorial Service at 3:30 pm.
Another Visitation with be held on February 1, 2009 from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Interment with be at 3:00 pm at the Prude Cemetery also in Mansfield, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lakeside Bible Church Women's Ministry.
Special thanks to Doctors M. Bhuriwala and S. Bhuriwala (fondly known as Dr B1 and B2 respectively), Dr. Micah Tomlinson, the staffs of Houston Cancer Clinic (Tomball), Tomball Regional Medical Center and Odyssey House Hospice and all who ministered to Della in any way whether by meals, visits, cards, phone calls or prayers.
