Arnold F. Nelson, Th.D.

Highland Cemetery, Mansfield

MANSFIELD, LA - Funeral services for Arnold F. Nelson, Th.D, 97, will be Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 2:30 PM at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel, Reverend Wiley Cole and Reverend Joe Waggener will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 4:30 until 7:30 PM.

Dr. Arnold Nelson was born January 29, 1911 in Union, MS to Sidney and Susie Gordon Nelson and passed away on January 25, 2009 in Mansfield, LA. Dr. Nelson was a graduate of Ole Miss at Oxford, MS. and received his Doctor of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminar in New Orleans, LA. He had the honor of serving as pastor of churches in Tylertown, Mississippi, Thibodaux and Slidell, Louisiana. He was Director of Mission for District Eight of the Louisiana Baptist Convention.

Preceding Dr. Nelson in death was his wife Donnie C. Nelson; daughter Dorothy Nelson Sorensen; his parents; one brother and two sisters. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter Charlotte Nelson; sister Elaine Reynolds; two grandchildren Lisa Alexander and husband Dan and Leif Sorensen; and great grandson Neil Alexander.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or First Baptist Church of Mansfield for Louisiana Missions. Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath
