CONVERSE, LA - Services for Sam Franklin Springer, 95 will be held at 4 PM, Friday, February 6, 2009 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, Mansfield, La. Officiating will be Rev. William Wash, Jr., pastor of Beulah Baptist Church and assisted by Rev. Jimmy Price, pastor of First Baptist Church of Noble, La and Chaplain Furlow with the Superior Hospice Program. Interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 PM, Thursday a Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La.
Mr. Springer entered into rest at his residence on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nora Viola Springer; 2 grandsons; Matthew Ryan Searcy and Gary Ryan Smith. He is survived by three sons, Sam Franklin Springer, Jr. & wife Linda, Mooringsport, Glenn Ray Springer & wife Debbie, Greenwood and William Lynn Springer, Union Springs Community; five daughters; Ann Conly & husband Butch,Shreveport, Louise Stith & husband Don, Harrison, Arkansas, Nora Mae Gannon & husband Kenneth, Mansfield, Dannie Searcy & husband Alan, Shreveport and Deboroah Lum & husband C.B. of the Union Springs Community, two sisters; Annie Simmons, Mansfield and Dannie Goldfield, Baltimore, Md and one brother Johnny Springer, Converse, La., 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Pallbearers will grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the granddaughters.
