About 1.5 Miles east of state line in De Soto Parish, from Logan community in Panola County. Holmes Cemetery is located just over the line in Louisiana, but undoubledly was used by Panola County residents. Found in the edge of some woods led to by a logging road, on fairly level ground surrounded by an old chain link fence. Twenty nine graves were identifiable, which is well above average for a medium sized cemetery such as this. One of the markers identifies the grave of a Civil War Veteran, (W. B. Shirey)

I'm attaching some pictures that I took while there.  It was really hard getting pictures of the graves since it's so think with brush, sticker-vines, and small trees.  My ggg grandparents were Robert M. Sample and Arzelia Rogers Sample.  Their daughter, Semantha is buried there also, but the picture didn't come out too well.  It was too over-grown with brush.  (J. Rice)
