R.D. Bass, 1927-1999

YANTIS - Services for Mr. R.D. Bass, 71, of Yantis were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arlis Banks officiating.

Burial was at Yantis Cemetery in Wood County.

Mr. Bass died Friday, March 26, 1999, in a Dallas hospital.   He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bass; 2 sons, Daniel Bass, Hurst, and Craig Bass, Fort Worth; a daughter, Jana Balderas, Bossier City, LA; a stepson,

Danny Knox; 2 stepdaughters, Dianne Short and Sherry Davis, both of Garland; a brother, George Bass Jr., Gun Barrel City; a sister, Lawanda Wheeler, Lewisville; 15 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.Mr. Bass was born in Lockett on April 11, 1927, to George & Margaret Bass. A veteran of World War 11, he was a retired mechanic and a Baptist.

Grandsons were pallbearers and great-grandsons were honorary pallbearers.
