1922-2005
Funeral services for Roy Gaddis, 82, of Alba
were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Alba United Methodist Church with
Rev. Bryan Brown officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery,
Alba, with nephews serving as pallbearers. Mr. Gaddis died Tuesday, Jan.
11, 2005, at Hospice of East Texas Home Place, Tyler. He was born
January 29, 1922, in Wood County. He lived in Alba since 1978. He served in
the Navy during World War II. He was a retired maintenance foreman for the
Dallas Independent School District, and he was a member of Alba United
Methodist Church. He is survived by a son, Rick Gaddis of Alba; daughter
Linda and husband Bo Culp of Alba; brothers, W.T. Gaddis of Mineral Springs,
Ark., and Johnnie Gaddis of Mabank; three grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyne C.
Gaddis on June 9, 2001; parents, Arch A. and Fronie Almeta Moseley Gaddis;
four brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to Hospice of East
Texas Home Place, 4111 University Blvd., tyler, TX 75701. Wilson-Bartley
Funeral Home, Alba was in charge of arrangements.
