Funeral services for Cletys Columbus Sadler, 88, of Dallas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas, and at 4:00 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Alba. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery under direction of Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Mr. Sadler was born in Bright Star February 4, 1917. He lived his life in Rains and Wood counties until the death of his first wife Marguerite in 1975. He then married Jeannette Williams of Dallas, where they lived for the remainder of his life. He was a graduate of East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce. He taught school for a brief period, but then began what would become a career in the construction industry. He retired from Pittsburg Plate Glass in 1982. He was primarily responsible for the development of Sadler Ranch in Wood and Rains counties on what is now Lake Fork Reservoir. Mr. Sadler is survived by his wife, Jeanette Williams Sadler of Dallas; two sons, Phillip Michael Sadler of Golden, and David Lee Sadler, M.D., of Longview; five grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
