“DJ” Dean Allen Bruner, Jr.

Funeral services for “DJ” Dean Allen Bruner
Jr., were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at Lake Fork Baptist Church with
Rev. Arlis Banks officiating. Burial was in Yantis Cemetery under direction of
Lowe Funeral Home of Quitman. Pallbearers were Jeremy Goss, Tyrell
McKinney, Ryan Glenn, Billy Stullenburger, Jarred McLarry, and Chase Rushing.
Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Bruner, Adam Owen, Justin Flowers and Joshua
Flowers. Mr. Bruner died Feb. 11 in Quitman. He was born October 6,
1983, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, to Dean Allen Bruner Sr. and Donna Sue Bruner
of Yantis. He attended Paris Junior College on a drama department
Scholarship and was stage manager for 2002 Yantis High School state champions
in “One Act Play.” He also coached two years for the Yantis Little
Dribblers. He lived all his life in Wood County, was a member of White Oak
Baptist Church of Yantis, and was active with the youth group. Mr.
Bruner is survived by paternal grandparents Gene and Connie Bruner of Yantis;
paternal grandfather Dennis Thompson of Van; maternal grandmother Evelyn Sue
Dike of Ben Wheeler; his parents; two brothers, Rodney Wayne Bruner and Dalton
Joel Bruner of Yantis; numerous aunts; uncles; and a host of friends. He
was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Peggy Flowers Thompson and
maternal grandfather Leslie Don Teel.
