Countryside Memorial Cemetery
Wilson Co. Cemeteries of TX
Submitted by Shirley Grammer
I am sending you the burials from a small
cemetery located near St. Hedwig, Texas (that we became aware of about three
years ago). It is hidden in underbrush and on private property out in a
field in the edge of the woods. My husband and I got into the cemetery and
documented the few burials. The property is owned by Dr. Arthur D. Zucht,
III of San Antionio. I spoke with Dr. Zucht regarding the placement of
these names on your cemetery site and he gave me his o.k. I did not know
what the name of the cemetery was until I spoke with Dr. Zucht and he said he
had named it COUNTRYSIDE MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY. He also said he had an
area fenced in at this location to handle 200 burials but a lot of work needs to
be done prior to any more burials.
From Highway 87 West in La Vernia; take FM 1346 toward St. Hedwig, Texas.
Go 2.5 miles until you see a sign that reads CEMETERY LANE. Take a
left and go 1/2 mile. You will see a fenced enclosure, approximately two
acres with an aluminum pipe gate. The cemetery is located at the back of
the property under oak trees and grapevines. You can not see the stones from the
road. This cemetery is located in the community of Carpenter.(Wilson
