Wharton County, Cemeteries of Texas
Submitted

Cemeteries

Location:
This Hispanic cemetery is located next to St. Phillip Cemetery off Hwy 59 and
Hwy 71 E. It is accessed by East
Alfred Street. The old section of
the cemetery was consecrated in 1942 as St. Roberts; later the “new” Colonia
Mexicana Cemetery was added. Many
of the markers are “homemade” with decorations that reflect their hispanic
heritage. This cemetery was
surveyed by Sammy Tise September 25, 1997.
It is located in Quadrant III.
