County Line Cemetery (P)

Conroe, San Jacinto, Cemeteries of Texas

A church cemetery located on the banks of Peach Creek, which forms the boundary between San Jacinto County and Montgomery County. It is close to the China Grove Community and Bysport Community. The second largest White cemetery in San Jacinto County with 482 graves (in 1977). Still in use and reached via a dirt road.

Direction: From Willis, TX take FM2432. Go about 1/2 mile-turn on County Line Road to the right. Go out about 10 miles. Cross Peach Creek into San Jacinto County, cemetery is just past the bridge by the church.

The original plot of land for the cemetery and church  was donated by  Ambrose  &  Sara Rebecca Walding Dean  (Aunt Sally)In the early 1900’s   Later, Additional land was donated  By the Dean heirs.

To Commemorate the  Memory of  Mrs. Willie C. Hurt  Through whose  un-tiring efforts  County Line Cemetery  Association was organized  April 3, 1951 and  Chartered May 17, 1951  Chartered May 17, 1951  First Board of Directors   Walter A.
