ROYSE CITY — Lois Smith of Royse City passed into the loving care of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Rockwall County on Oct. 16, 2006, after living almost 88 years. She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Union Valley to George Lock and Georgia Myrtle (Prince) Hurst.
Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Royse City and lived in the Union Valley/Royse City area all of her 88 years. The Lord in His grace loved her and gave her comfort all the days of her life, and she let His light shine — always serving and caring for others. What a blessing she has been to us!
Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Grady Smith and wife Peggy of Garland; five grandchildren, Timothy Smith, Rhonda Lovell, Gary Smith, Chris Smith and Lance Smith; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother joined in Heaven her beloved husband, Herman S. Smith, and two sons, Floyd Ray Smith and Carl Wayne Smith. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Royse City with Les Joslin officiating. Interment follows in the Royse City Cemetery. Rest Haven-Royse City chapel is in charge of arrangements.
