Graveside services for George L. Havins, 88, were held at the Woosley Cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Clyde Passons officiating. He died Tuesday in a Euless nursing home.
Born on Jan 23, 1892 in the Flats community, he married the former Mabel Eunice Vaughn in 1916, who preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and life-long resident of the Flats community.
Survivors are a son, G.W. Havins, of Irving; two daughters, Hazel Cunningham and Fay Colvin, both of Huntsville, AL; a brother, Thomas Havins of Idabel, OK; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 
LyBrand Funeral Home of Point directed the services. Honorary pallbearers were George Stuart, Jessie Tidwell, Hurst Fenter, Herman Cunningham, and Rolen Carter.
