King Barker Brackeen, 85, of Fort Worth died the evening of April 11. Funeral services were at Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Emory at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, with Rev. Beverly Montgomery officiating. Burial was at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Emory. Mr. Brackeen was the son of George and Ellen Wilson Brackeen. He was born June 14, 1918, in Wolfe City. Mr. Brackeen served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Survivors include two sons, George Brackeen of Fort Worth and Joe Brackeen of Washington, D.C.; one daughter, Avis Brackeen-Qualls of Arlington; and three grandchildren.
