Vernon L. Burns Obit Hooker Ridge Cemetery, Rains Co. Cemeteries of TX

Funeral services for Vernon L. Burns, 67, of Lone Oak were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, at Point Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jay Sikes officiating. Burial followed in Hooker Cemetery with Joe Moss serving as a pallbearer. Mr. Burns died at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville on Thursday, December 16. He was born in Hunt County on November 21, 1937, to Joe Sier Burns and Zella Irene Burns. He was a farmer and a Baptist. Survivors include brothers, J.D. Burns and wife Lorine, Billy Burns and wife Rosa; sisters, Mary Jo Darden and husband Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents. Point Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
