Directions: From Carthage, proceed northbound on U.S. Hwy 59 N, Turn right on to FM 2792. Proceed northbound on FM 2792, continuing on in that same direction after FM 2792 turns into part of FM 1794 E. After crossing the Sabine River, be alert for the sign on the right indicating Panola County Road 307. After the intersection of FM 1794 E and CR 307, continue northbound on FM 1794 E for 0.6 miles. The cemetery will be on the right side of the highway, just a short distance south of the intersection of FM 1794 E and FM 1186. During the seasons when the tress have shed their leaves, the tombstones can be spotted from the highway. When the trees are filled with leaves, one will probably have to search for the cemetery.
I have found this cemetery referred in records as Hillside, Twomey and Moore Cemetery.
Only two marked graves are there and, due to the thick undergrowth around them, no idea can be gained of the possibility of unmarked graves around them. There is no oral tradition in circulation about other graves being at that location. Also unknown is whether there was any relationship between the young woman and the little girl buried there.
