Mr. L. M. Allen, who has been sick for some time with Bright's disease
at his home in Emory, answered the last roll call about 12 o'clock
Thursday night, the 25th. He was 71 years old, having been born in
Georgia on February 26, 1821. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the Civil War, a
loyal member of the Methodist church. A wife, 6 children and other
relatives are left behind. His remains were carried to Dangerfield Friday
and interred in the old family graveyard. ~ ~ ~ The Rains County Leader,
