Opal Johnson (Greenville Herald Banner, Tuesday, February 13, 2001)
Opal Devada Johnson, 87, of Garland died Sunday at Chambrel Retirement Home in Garland. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coker- Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Nichols officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery.
The daughter of Frank Stovall and Florence Crump, she was born Sept. 12, 1913 in Greenville. On April 6, 1931 she was married to Bloom S. Johnson in Cooledge.
Mrs. Johnson was a retired Hunt County clerk. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the ALR class of the church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Jim Bracy of Dallas; brother and sister-in-law, J.D. ad Ruth Stovall of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 3, 1971; a sister, Jewell Marshall, and a brother, Everett Stovall.
Nephews are pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or a charity of choice. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
