Helen Wortham

Helen Louise Wortham of Dallas died Friday at a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. David L. White Sr. and Rev. Charlie Averhart officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

She was born June 9, 1930 in Wolfe City; the daughter of Johnny and Esterline White Johnson. She married Joe D. Wortham on April 22, 1946 in Wolfe City.

She was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of Wolfe City; her mother of Wolfe City; three daughters, Phyllis Wortham and Donna Wortham of Dallas and Carolyn Williams of Garland; two sisters, Johnnie Bogar of Fort Worth and Jean Adkins of Wolfe City; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.

Pallbearers will be R.C. Lewis, R.C. Woods, Jimmy Lee Gaffney, John H. Brown, Morris B. Bogar and Ray Pannell.

Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Chapel.
