DOROTHY TURNER

GRAPEVINE — Dorothy Frances Turner, 79, a retired church secretary, died May 11, 2004, at her residence in Colleyville. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at Colonial Baptist Church in Dallas. Burial is at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City under the direction of Lucas and Thompson Funeral Directors of Grapevine.

She was born Sept. 12, 1924, in Celeste. She was the church secretary at Colonial Baptist Church in Dallas for 46 years, was a member of First Baptist Church of Commerce for 11 years and First Baptist Church of Grapevine for the last three years.

She especially loved children and influenced many children's lives through her years of service as leader of the Sunbeams, Girls Auxiliary and Training. Seldom thinking of herself and never complaining, even in her last days, Dorothy will always be loved and remembered as a gracious, kind and loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend and beautiful Christian lady.

Survivors are a sister, Jean Talley; many nieces and nephews and her great-great-niece, Emily, the true love of her life.
