LEONARD – Funeral services for George Ruff, 87, of Leonard, were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Ruff passed away at his residence Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003.

Ruff was born Feb. 29, 1916, the son of Wilber Ruff and Maggie Rossom Ruff. He married Antha L. Gilliam on Aug. 18, 1936, and after her death on April 18, 1973, he married Rosa Smith on Dec. 1, 1973 in Bonham. He was a Security Guard at E-Systems and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Ruff of Leonard; daughter, Loretta Blacketer of Leonard; sons, Wayne Ruff of Royce City and William Ruff of Plano; sisters, Johnnie Trammel of Houston and Lula Faye Barnhart of Mesquite; brother, Billy Ray Ruff of Denison; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Taylor Funeral Home in Leonard was in charge of the arrangements.
